Christmas Programs 2024
Christmas Programs 2024
For Christmas 2024 our fund provided USD15,300 for two Christmas Gift programs in Myanmar and USD2700 for a Christmas Gift program in Sri Lanka.
Chin State Christmas Gift Program
1,331 children (pre-school, Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3 and our scholarship students) received a gift bag ahead of Christmas.
Each gift bag contained essential items like a t-shirt, a towel, an umbrella, ruler/pencil/eraser/sharpener, etc. or a drawing book, crayons, balloons, candies, playdough, depending on the age of the children.
Local partners and project teachers (all volunteers) packed the bags and assisted with the distribution.

2. Children’s Christmas Parties in different locations in Myanmar
1418 children in 12 different villages/areas in Myanmar were treated to a Christmas Party by a group of caring volunteers. There was singing, dancing and games and each child received a meal (cooked by the volunteers) and small presents. Depending on the location, the presents were snacks, stationery, a story book, juice, bread, a lollipop, etc. Based on the photos, the meals prepared by the volunteers were the highlight of the parties.
Please visit section Photo Gallery and look at the album titled "2024 Christmas Parties - Myanmar".
Please note:
All 2749 children who were included in the two programs in Myanmar live in poverty or are civil war victims. We believe the pictures in the two albums will show you how much joy a USD10 gift bag or a meal and small gift for about USD1.40 each can bring a needy child.
Our heartfelt thanks to all volunteers in Myanmar who provided their time and spared no effort to execute these programs successfully and gave the children a memorable Christmas.
3. Sri Lanka Christmas Gift Program
150 children, received a backpack, uniform, a bottle for water and items essential to attend pre-school. This is important not just for the children’s education but also because they get one warm meal on each school day. There is substantial poverty in Sri Lanka and many parents cannot afford food for their children and themselves, nor the items necessary for their children to attend pre-school and school.
We would like to say “Thank you” to the volunteers who bought the gift items and arranged the distribution at the three pre-schools.
Please visit section Photo Gallery and look at the album titled "2024 Christmas Parties – Sri Lanka".
Our gratitude goes to all our Friends and Donors who helped us with funds supporting these Christmas Programs which brought joy to so many poor children.
